The Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) has been serving the Ann Arbor, Michigan, community for more than 120 years. As one of the most respected shelters in the state, HSHV cares for over 14,000 animals every year and maintains an impressive 97% save rate, the highest among similar “no kill” shelters in Michigan.

Originally, HSHV came to PetBridge seeking enhanced ways to connect pets with adopters. Traditional online pet listings lacked the features modern adopters expect. That’s where PetBridge’s Pet Alerts and Pet Display tools came in. With automated alerts, potential adopters can sign up to receive real-time notifications when pets that match their preferences become available. This streamlined the process, making it easier for HSHV staff to manage high adoption demand while helping pets find homes more quickly.
Over time, the partnership expanded to include more custom solutions. One of the most impactful projects was the creation of HSHV’s Lost & Found page.
PetBridge developers worked with HSHV to pull data from the shelter’s system and display it in a way that allowed the public to report and search for missing pets. This tool has helped reunite countless lost pets with their families.
